Nominals not clearing down to zero

From looking at Nominal 1.1234, I can see this is set as a BS (Balance Sheet) nominal. It is only nominals that are set as P&L (Profit & Loss), which clear down to Zero and automatically journal over to Retained Profit at each Year End,

If you need to make adjustments to a BS nominal, you can do so in FD by following the steps below:

  1. From the DPS Home Screen, select Nominal Ledger.

  2. Click Journals.

You can enter multiple BS and P&L Nominals (not controls) into one journal batch. but the batch must total 0.00. Please See example below:

Β£100.00 CR - Nom 1.1234
Β£25.00 DR - Nom 1.2222
Β£25.00 DR - Nom 1.3333
Β£50.00 DR - Nom 1.444

Batch total = 0.00

If a BS should in fact be a P&L, we would recommend setting up a New P&L nominal, then journaling the balance from the BS Nom to the new P&L nom. This would then clear down to zero each financial year.
