To change the default program for specific file types such as pdf files, jpg image files, mp4 video files, wav audio files etc, please follow the steps below:
Click the Start Button (Windows button on the bottom left corner of your screen that opens up the Start menu).
Settings button found on the left side of the start menu or you can search for it by typing in the search box.
Once the Settings menu has opened navigate and click the option that says Apps.
Click the default apps option on the left side panel.
On the bottom of the screen (or the right side of the screen) find and click the option that says Choose default apps by file type.
Find the file type in the list.
Click on the option that says choose a default or click the currently selected program to choose a new program.
Once selected, close out the settings window and try opening the file again.
