The Matter will need to be setup for Crime in order to be able to use the Crime Time Feature. To use this feature on a Crime file, follow the steps below:

  1. Launch DPS Mobile (recently used matters and the Search option will show).

  2. Tap in the Search field and type the text e.g. mouse. The search results will show automatically, matching matters to your search criteria you type. The address field and reference are also searched e.g. the first part of the address 11 Goldings Drive.

  3. Swipe left on the required matter to see the History, Crime Time and Dictation buttons.

  4. Tap on Crime Time.

  5. Tap on CONTINUE. Details will be pre-populated, however the Fee Earner can be changed if required.

  6. Tap to select either Duty Solicitor or Own Solicitor.

  7. Tap each of the following 3 options Claim London Rates, Weekend Work and Initial Duty Period and Serious Matter to include, or leave to exclude.

  8. Tap on Police Station and Tap the required police station from the list. The Search field can also be used.

  9. Tap the Next Appearance Date and select the required date.

  10. Tap on Note and enter the Diary Note text required.

  11. Tap on Enter Time Note… and type the required text.

  12. Tap on Add Crime Time. The Diary Note will show in the Note field in the File History, and the Time Note will show in the Details field of the Time section.

  13. Tap on CONTINUE.

  14. The details will show and are ready to change. Tap on the top 5 fields and specify the duration if required. A green tick will show to the left when a field is changed. The Advice Assist field will calculate the duration by deducting the waiting time from the duration between arrival and departure time.

  15. Tap on Mileage and enter a Mileage Rate and Value.

  16. Tap on Submit.

  17. Tap and add Vatable and Non Vatable Fares and Parking to complete.

  18. Tap on either DRAFT or SEND

    • DRAFT - The details will NOT be sent and will show as Pending. These can be accessed later by clicking on the menu icon (3 lines) and tapping Crime Time.

    • SEND - The details will be sent to the matter and will show as Uploaded.
