Release Summary
Release 16.4.1.0 is a planned release addressing a cluster of document bundling issues, a Probate data-entry error, and an Inheritance Tax calculation issue, alongside a significant rollout of updated HMRC Inheritance Tax form templates across seven forms.
Several bundling issues have been resolved: hyperlinks (including links to files stored in OneDrive) no longer stop working once a document is bundled into a PDF, an incorrect âyou must select at least 2 documents to mergeâ message no longer appears after saving a bundle, and the âInclude letters after index numberingâ and âInclude letters before index numberâ options are now correctly applied and preserved when bundles are created and reopened.
In Probate, adding an asset under âHousehold and personal gifts donated to charityâ no longer produces an error on save. The IHT402 form has also been corrected so it no longer displays an invalid (NaN) figure where a calculated value should appear.
This release also delivers HMRC's latest revisions to seven Inheritance Tax forms â IHT400, IHT403, IHT404, IHT405, IHT410, IHT412, and IHT418 â so OneOffice generates each form to the current HMRC layout, with existing case data mapped correctly to the revised field structures. Cases already completed on a previous version of a form retain that version rather than being automatically upgraded.
This release also introduces persistent column customization for the Admin Tasks > e-Chit Requests tab. Column widths and column visibility are now saved automatically per user and restored across tabs, sessions and workstations, and a new "Column Display" toolbar group lets users show or hide columns via the standard column chooser and reset the layout to system defaults, replacing the previous "Hide Bank Account" checkbox.
Finally, this release includes a small number of internal-only engineering items â an investigation into a Claims Portal integration approach, build infrastructure improvements, and a build pipeline reliability fix â with no customer-facing impact, listed here for completeness.
OneOffice - Bugs
Hyperlinks No Longer Work After Bundling
Summary: When bundling documents that contain hyperlinks â for example, links to files stored in OneDrive â into a single PDF, those hyperlinks stopped working in the resulting PDF, even though the same links worked correctly in the original Word document.
Fix: Hyperlinks are now preserved correctly when documents are bundled, so links that work in the original document continue to work in the bundled PDF.
Bundling Incorrectly Warned âYou Must Select at Least 2 Documents to Mergeâ
Summary: After saving a bundle and then immediately selecting âSend to Bundleâ without clicking elsewhere on the screen first, users saw an incorrect message stating they needed to select at least two documents to merge, even though a valid bundle had just been saved.
Fix: The document selection state is now correctly refreshed after saving a bundle, so this message no longer appears incorrectly.
Bundling: âInclude Letters After Index Numberingâ Setting Not Respected
Summary: When bundling documents and unticking the âInclude letters after index numberingâ option, the generated bundle still included letters in the index numbering, ignoring the user's selection.
Fix: The bundling process now correctly respects this setting, so letters are only included in index numbering when the option is ticked.
Standard Bundle: âInclude Letters Before Index Numberâ Setting Not Preserved
Summary: When saving a bundle with âInclude letters before index numberâ unticked, reopening that saved bundle showed the option as ticked, even though it hadn't been selected when the bundle was originally saved.
Fix: The âInclude letters before index numberâ setting is now correctly saved and restored, so a reopened bundle reflects the options it was originally saved with.
Error Adding an Asset Donated to Charity in Probate
Summary: In a Probate matter, adding an asset under âHousehold and personal gifts donated to charityâ and selecting âLeft as Legacyâ in the Dealt By section produced an error on save, preventing the asset from being recorded.
Fix: The data handling for this asset type has been corrected so the asset can now be saved successfully without triggering an error.
IHT402 Form Showing Incorrect (NaN) Calculations
Summary: The IHT402 form could display âNaNâ instead of a calculated figure in some circumstances, meaning the form's calculations weren't producing usable values for users completing it.
Fix: The calculation issue has been corrected so the IHT402 form now displays valid calculated figures.
OneOffice - New Functionality
HMRC Form Update: IHT400 (04/26 Revision)
The IHT400 form has been updated to HMRC's April 2026 (04/26) version, which includes renumbered fields, consolidated date fields, expanded grids, and new questions. OneOffice's field mapping has been rebuilt for the new structure, and existing case data carries across correctly to the restructured fields. Cases already completed on a previous version of the form retain that version rather than being automatically upgraded.
HMRC Form Update: IHT403 (04/26 Revision)
The IHT403 form has been updated to HMRC's April 2026 (04/26) version, which adds a new âpercentage of relief claimedâ column to the gifts tables, reflecting the new cap on 100% Agricultural and Business Relief, and restructures the Earlier Transfers table. OneOffice now supports the new fields and layout, and existing case data carries across correctly. Cases already completed on a previous version of the form retain that version rather than being automatically upgraded.
HMRC Form Update: IHT404 (04/26 Revision)
The IHT404 form has been updated to HMRC's April 2026 (04/26) version. OneOffice's field mapping has been updated to match the new form structure, with existing case data carrying across correctly to the restructured fields. Cases already completed on a previous version of the form retain that version rather than being automatically upgraded.
HMRC Form Update: IHT405 (04/26 Revision)
The IHT405 form has been updated to HMRC's April 2026 (04/26) version. OneOffice's field mapping has been updated to match the new form structure, with existing case data carrying across correctly to the restructured fields. Cases already completed on a previous version of the form retain that version rather than being automatically upgraded.
HMRC Form Update: IHT410 (06/26 Revision)
The IHT410 form has been updated to HMRC's June 2026 (06/26) version, which consolidates the Date of Death field from eight single-character entries into three multi-character fields. OneOffice now maps to the new field structure automatically, and existing case data carries across correctly to the restructured fields. Cases already completed on a previous version of the form retain that version rather than being automatically upgraded.
HMRC Form Update: IHT412 (04/26 Revision)
The IHT412 form has been updated to HMRC's April 2026 (04/26) version. OneOffice's field mapping has been updated to match the new form structure, with existing case data carrying across correctly to the restructured fields. Cases already completed on a previous version of the form retain that version rather than being automatically upgraded.
HMRC Form Update: IHT418 (04/26 Revision)
The IHT418 form has been updated to HMRC's April 2026 (04/26) version. OneOffice's field mapping has been updated to match the new form structure, with existing case data carrying across correctly to the restructured fields. Cases already completed on a previous version of the form retain that version rather than being automatically upgraded.
Save Column Widths for e-Chit Requests Tab
Column widths in the Admin Tasks > e-Chit Requests tab are now saved automatically as soon as a user resizes a column, and are restored whenever the tab is revisited â including after navigating to another Admin Tasks tab, logging off and back in, or moving to a different workstation. Preferences are stored per user, so each user sees only their own saved column widths.
Hide and Show Columns in e-Chit Requests Tab
A new âColumn Displayâ group box has been added to the Admin Tasks > e-Chit Requests toolbar, replacing the previous âHide Bank Accountâ checkbox. Its âShow / Hideâ button opens the standard column chooser already used elsewhere in Financial Director (for example on the bank reconciliation grid), letting users tick or untick any of the available columns to show or hide them immediately. Internal and action columns are not offered in the chooser. Column visibility choices are saved per user and persist across tabs, sessions and workstations.
Reset Column Layout to Defaults in e-Chit Requests Tab
A âDefaultsâ button has been added alongside âShow / Hideâ in the new âColumn Displayâ group box on the Admin Tasks > e-Chit Requests toolbar. After a confirmation prompt, it restores column widths, visibility and order to the system defaults for the current user only, clearing their saved layout so the grid appears as it would for a first-time user. Other usersâ saved layouts are unaffected.
