Error: Failed to load user profile

The most likely reason for this issue is that your virtual hard disk (VHD), which stores your user profile, remains mounted or "stuck" on the server after you log off. If the VHD does not detach cleanly, subsequent login attempts may fail, resulting in this error. To resolve this, first try the following troubleshooting steps:

  1. Retry logging in after a short wait. In some cases, repeated login attempts allow the stuck VHD to detach, enabling a successful login.

  2. Wait a few minutes before trying again to give the system time to release the stuck VHD. If these steps do not resolve the issue, please send a message to the digital assistant and ask to speak to a human. Please include the following in your case:

  • Your name and contact number.

  • When this started happening.

  • Who else is having the same issue.

  • Screenshots of any error messages.

  • Please remain logged in until we log you off. If this issue occurs frequently, ensure you log off properly after each session to minimize the chances of your VHD becoming stuck. Additionally, report recurring issues to your IT support team for further investigation.
