There are a couple of factors that can lock your time.
Did you move the time from another matter? if so, did you also move the WIP associated with that time?
If not it might be the WIP has been picked up in a bill on the original ledger. Please check article ‘DPS One Office: Move/Copy time recording from one matter to another’ for the correct process for moving time records between matters.
Another reason for this issue cropping up is that the WIP may have been written off, outside of a bill. This can either be performed by pressing the W/O button on the matters Completion tab, or an accounts user has written off time via the W/O tab in Admin tasks. You can check if this has happened by following the below steps:
From the Matter Ledger card screen, select the Time button.
Under Show Time, click All Time.
Click OK.
Look under the Bill No column, if time was been written off, it will display as W/O.
If WIP has been written off in error, and you need to recover it, then please raise a new case online and reference the title of this article.
