From the DPS Home Screen, go to Nominal Ledger.
Click Transaction Periods.
Find the period you wish to post the credit note in and Untick the closed tick box.
Click Update Periods.
Select the New Posting Period from the drop-down box.
Click Set Posting Period.
From the DPS Home Screen, go to Client Postings.
Click Credit Notes.
Enter Matter Ref then click Find.
Double-click on Bill to Credit Note.
Double-click on the bill value in the Time box and enter the Net amount in the Credit Amount box. Press the Tab button and OK.
Click Post Credit Note.
Once posted the ledger will display a reduced Office and Bill balance. Negative profit costs will be assigned to the Profit Cost nominal on the original bill.
